Eleonora was a PhD researcher in Program 2 at the Australian Cobotics Centre.  Her research project sought to enable a safe and seamless Human-Robot collaboration to facilitate the introduction of robots in manufacturing and in operating theaters, involving Cook Medical and Stryker as Industrial Partners.  The specific focus of project 2.1 was on the representation of robotic intentions in the design of custom Human-Machine Interfaces to ensure a seamless collaboration between the human and the robotic agent, with an eye to AR/MR-based solutions. The ultimate scientific purpose was the empowerment of the human workforce by adopting a human-centered approach to automation, thus involving end-users all along the design process.

The project represents the natural prosecution of Eleonora’s experimental work for her master thesis on Human-In-The-Loop-Solutions for an Industry 5.0, completed at the Austrian Institute of Technology and worth a full-grades degree in Human-Computer Interaction at the University of Trento (2023). Prior to that, Eleonora worked as UX Designer for a digital agency (@Corelab), prototyping and testing user-centered web apps.
