Approaches to Planning and Productivity Improvements in Dynamic Production Systems
Manufacturing is facing increased competitiveness due to global pressures, and the Industry 4.0 revolution has brought valuable tools like simulation to enhance manufacturing systems. Discrete Event Simulation (DES) is widely used in the manufacturing sector to digitally test system changes before their implementation, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness.
In the webinar, our Associate PhD researcher from University of Technology Sydney, ruba zaqeba talked about her research which investigates the integration of DES with existing theoretical methods in High-Mix Low-Volume (HMLV) and Low-Mix High-Volume (LMHV) manufacturing enterprises. By comparing the performance of the integrated approach to individual methods, we can uncover valuable insights for boosting productivity.
